2010-Year of NEGATIVE

I know it`s been a long time since i`ve been dropping down something here. And as a matter of a fact, because of that I was thinking to myself:

Should I feel guilty about that? The answer is: No, my friends! ‘Cause in silence right after “Karma Killer” Tour we started to come up with the vision for the music, lyric and the whole frames for the new NEGATIVE-album which will be within your reach 2010.

All that has kept me really busy.

As i`m writing this, we`re still in a middle of a recordings but already at this point i can tell you that the new songs are gonna be something fresh, intense, deeper, wilder and more beautiful than anything we`ve done in the past. I could talk about our new stuff endlessly, but instead I’ll let the music speak for itself. Recordings take place at Broken Wave Studios, Los Angeles CA. lead by Jimmy Westerlund & Warren Riker.

This session has definitely been the best time in a studio ever, and not only because of New exciting songs or circumstances, but also because of the new people that are working with the band for the album. After 4 studio albums at the age of 26 I can say that I`ve learned so much from these people.I have a good feeling.

With a little delay as a band we wanna thank you all who showed up on Karma Killer-tour. Afterwards like this when you get some distance for what We`ve done it is just a pleasure to think how wide and successful our tour itself was. There we`re a lot of new people and new countries for us, like Mexico, Italy, Spain, Netherlands and France.

The tour with a new album will come for sure and if it`s up to us we’re gonna play in every country we`ve played before and beside of that there will be a lot of new exciting places to go.

Can`t say yet when your are able to hear some new tracks, but when the time is right we let you know.

We`re doing our best to drop some news lines here more often

By the way just love to see how active our myspace and web site are nowadays and I personally wanna tell all our Fan page admins and visitors all over the world that keep doing what you`re doing, you`re the roots of NGT. As long as you keep on spreading a word of NEGATIVE, Rock`n Roll is alive and well!

NEGATIVE MAKE A NEW ALBUM IN LOS ANGELES
The new album will come out next year. Prior to this, at the end of this year,
there will be a new single and Negative will play a few gigs in Finland.
The number one rock favourite, Negative, just started work on a new record
this fall in Los Angeles with Producer Warren Riker (incl. Michael Jackson, Korn, Santana) and Jimmy Westerlund (music, tv and sound productions in films).
Monday the 31st of August Jonne Aaron went to Los Angeles. The rest of the band
will follow over the week. The work is estimated to take a couple of months.

Negative has signed a worldwide record deal with Warner Music. New material has already been heard this year. The band will go on tour in the northern part of finland:

Negative up to do their new album in Los Angeles

In september, Negative are going to start the recordings for their new album.
This time, the band plans to work on the record in LA.
"I met the producer on a music trade fair in Finland and we exchanged numbers.
I went to see him at the end of May. We connected and I moved from the hotel to the producer's flat in Santa Monica and we planned the new album",
singer Jonne Aaron told the newspaper Iltalehti.

The vocalist plans to go to back to Los Angeles soon in order to fix a closer time schedule for the recordings in autumn. According to him there are already a lot of songs ready, out of which the band choses the best for the record. Jonne told the newspaper, that the Californian clima certainly plays its own part in the atmosphere of the upcoming album.

"Our style will stay the same, but we're going to make this longplayer carefully", he says.

NGT's last record, the b-side-collection God Likes Your Style was released towards the middle of june."

Compilation is offering hits and rarities to all fans
and people who are interested about bands long career.
Compilation has been joined mainly from B-sides
but there’s also some rare acoustic versions from bands crossover hits.
Compilation has been named after very first song
that Jonne Aaron has written for Negative.
CD-package contains story from each song written by Jonne himself.
At the moment Negative is working on new material.
God Likes Your Style will hit the stores on June 17th.

I suddenly realised that it's already been a year since the last update about the band was written to this Forum. So it really is about time right now!
The tour came to it's end a few weeks ago, i.e. the KarmaKiller-tour came to a huge end in Holland, where the last show took place.
From my point of view it was one of the best tours ever! Incredibly great atmosphere. It was great to be on tour again in a relaxed and freed mood.
We also came to playe in lots of new countries. Those countries, to which Negative never went to before. Mm. Mexico was one of those, and Spain!
Thanks again to all of those who came to the shows! GREAT!
Now it's the case that a wholly new wind blows together with the wind of spring into the direction of our band. The record-lable is a new one, in summer there's going to be the already mentioned b-sites- compilation-record (there's probably going to be more about that later) and we have just started to rehearse new NGT-songs.
We've been thinking again and again about demoing them and putting them in shape so that the studio calls again But until then there's still a little time. Maybe in summer then, at earliest. There were also a lot of new pictures collected all over the tour, so we try to get those to the website as soon as possible. I'm in a fiery haste right now since the rehearsal starts again in 28mins. So it's bye for now, here comes the cut!
I'll report soon and update this as soon as something conrete happens!

The fourth Helldone Festival in Helsinki, Finland will be as warm, loose and easygoing as it’s always been. There’s one new thing though, more of a sort of added bonus as Helldone Festival does a road trip.

This time around HIM, KYPCK (pronounced `Kursk’) and 45 Degree Woman take the festival on the road, to the cities of Oulu and Tampere. While this fearless trio shares some good vibes with the rest of the country, Helldone HQ in Helsinki is rocking to the sounds of Stam1na, Diablo and Godsplague on Monday 29th , and The 69 Eyes, Negative and Sara on Tuesday 30th . New Year’s Eve marks the eagerly awaited return of the road warriors.

During the past couple of years, the Helldone Festival has also been proud to present some cool bands from overseas but you have politely pointed out that the thing you really want to see and hear are Finnish bands. Finnish bands in the dark heart of the Finnish winter.

Your wishes are our commands! Besides, you’ve got it spot on: it’s these bands that are the true essence of the Spirit of Helldone, the very thing that makes our festival one of a kind. These bands, this venue, and - last but far from least - this audience.

It’s a family affair. Always has been, always will be.

Some of this year’s bands have played at the festival before but none has been invited back purely for old times sake. Each and every band in the Helldone 2008 line-up has recently reached important milestones in their careers: be it a killer album, a breakthrough in new territories or a big tour. They all are alive, hungry, fast and furious. And definitely as cool as a December night in downtown Hellsinki.

Helldone 2008 marks the tenth anniversary of HIM’s New Year’s Eve shows at Tavastia Club - the tradition out of which the Helldone Festival was born. Each night there will be top bands on the Tavastia stage, while the neighbouring venue Semifinal serves as a chill out zone with some familiar faces spinning records. HIM will traditionally start their set at midnight on New Year’s Eve.

The long, hot summer…

"Time flies, we’re already nearing the end of the summer festival season even though it feel the summer has just begun. We still have a couple of festival shows coming up and then it’s time to take this circus indoors to shady clubs and concert halls.

This summer has one of the best for our band, our new album Karma Killer has done really well and the gigs we’ve played have been great, lots of people showing up and singing along with the new songs as well as the older ones. So… a big thank you to all of you who have come to our shows!

As you know, from the beginning of the Karma Killer tour in last April, we’ve had Gary as a touring guitar player with us. But, after all these great shows and moments spent together we’ve decided with Larry, Snack, Jay and Antti to continue as a five-piece band from now on. We thank Gary for this summer and wish him all the best for the future!

Our first show without Gary will be at Turku’s Down By The Laituri -festival on August 2nd."

Jonne will be appearing on the YLE TV1 talkshow Arto Nyberg on sunday, May 4th at 07.45 pm. Next week on monday, tuesday and thursday Jonne will be hosting Radio NRJ's daytime broadcast, and on the release day of the album (wednesday May 7th) Negative will be appering live in MTV3's morning program at 08.50 am, on Radio Nova after 09.00 am, TV 4's Utalk after 09.30 am and at Radio Suomipop starting at 02.30 pm.

NEGATIVE ANNOUNCES NEW GUITARIST AND NEW ALBUM!

One of the most successful Finnish rock acts Negative will release their fourth album "Karma Killer" on May 7th. With the previous three albums Negative have topped the Finnish album- and singles charts and toured around the world playing hundreds of shows. At the end of 2007 the band was voted the best Finnish act in MTV's Video Music Awards, once again showing the size and dedication of their fanbase. In January 2008 Negative released "In The Eye Of The Hurricane", a double-disc DVD covering their career so far. The DVD has achieved gold sales in Finland.

"Won't Let Go" is the first single from the new album, showcasing the band's natural progress: there are fresh elements in the mix, but the song still sounds like Negative. The album was produced by Mikko Karmila who has previously worked with Finnish heavyweights Nightwish and Children Of Bodom. The album will be released in Scandinavia on May 7th, releases for the rest of Europe and Japan will follow later in the spring.

With the new album Negative will also announce their new guitar player Gary who will replace Sir Christus, who parted ways with the band at the beginning of 2008. "I've known the guys for about seven years, played at the same gigs with them with my own band etc., so when Negative was in need of a guitar player, Antti (NGT's bass player) asked me to come up and try out with them, as they thought that I could fit into the band pretty nicely. Everything's gone well so far, the mood inside the band is great and it just feel natural", says Gary.

Won't Let Go will be added to NGT's Myspace on Wednesday, April 2nd.

NEGATIVE PARTS WAYS WITH GUITARIST

Negative's longtime guitarist Sir Christus is no longer in the band, Negative will start recording their fourth album as a five-piece.

“We decided that it’s best to continue without Sir Christus. This is not a hasty decision, we’ve talked about this many times and this is really the best thing for all of us. There’s no hard feelings on either side”, says lead singer Jonne Aaron.

“It’s just like any long-lasting relationship, people can grow apart and end up wanting different things. Negative will of course keep going on, no doubt about that, this will not affect our future plans”, Jonne continues.

Negative will start the recording sessions for their fourth album with producer Mikko Karmila (Nightwish, Children Of Bodom) in February. “We feel very confident about the new songs, and the mood inside the band is relaxed and relieved. We’re concentrating 100% on the new album now, and we’ll bring in the new guitarist on the gigs following the release of our new record. We’ll let you know more when we have something to tell you”, Jonne says.

Negative's double-disc dvd "In The Eye Of The Hurricane" will be released in Finland on January 26th. Included on the discs is a full-length NGT show filmed at Pakkahuone, Tampere on December 2006, plus over three hours worth of material from the last 10 years, including a new interview, photogalleries, promovideos, fan photos, Jonne's liner notes in the booklet, and a documentary taking you to studios, hotelrooms, backstages etc., all the places the audience usually doesn't get to see. For those living outside of Finland, you can order the dvd from Record Shop X, they support Paypal and credit card payments, fast deliveries only 2,50 worldwide! The dvd is not region-coded.

Negative will play a show and sign autographs on the release day at Ideapark, Lempäälä, starting at 3pm.
